About Signaling System Solutions

Dedicated to excellence in fire alarm maintenance and safety solutions.

We saw what was missing - and built it.

In 2006, Paul and Frank founded Signaling System Solutions in Vancouver, Washington, with a straightforward conviction: the fire and life safety industry was missing a company that genuinely put the customer first. Not in the marketing brochure sense. In the actual, pick-up-the-phone, show-up-on-time, tell-you-exactly-what's-wrong sense.

Both US military veterans; they brought with them a set of values that don't bend under pressure: service before self, effective communication, fairness to all concerned and Producing effective solutions with a commitment to doing the right thing even when no one's checking.

SSS Corp has grown steadily for nearly twenty years because those values aren't a slogan. They're the standard every employee is held to, from the first call to the final inspection report.

What we believe: Service is our only product. We don't manufacture equipment. We don't distribute systems. We protect buildings and the people inside them through the quality and consistency of our work. Every interaction, from an extinguisher tag to a complex fire panel replacement — gets the same attention, the same care, and the same follow-through.

Who we serve: Commercial property owners and managers throughout the Greater Portland area and Southwest Washington who need a fire and life safety partner they can count on, not a vendor they have to chase.

Today, our mission is clear:

  • Deliver reliability and trust at every step

  • Provide uncompromising quality and performance

  • Build lasting partnerships based on respect and integrity

Our Mission

To protect lives and property through fire and life safety systems delivered with experience, integrity, and care.

We’re proud of where we came from. We’re proud of who we are. And we’re proud to serve businesses that value trust, accountability, and real partnership.

Our Focus

From the very beginning, we made a deliberate choice: to specialize exclusively in fire and life safety systems. Rather than stretching ourselves across unrelated services, we invested deeply in the technologies, standards, and expertise that protect people and property. Our specialization means we stay ahead of code changes, master complex system requirements, and deliver solutions backed by true technical understanding. For example, our team provides certified fire alarm design, performs compliant fire sprinkler inspections, tests emergency lighting systems, and evaluates backflow preventers to ensure full regulatory readiness.

We also committed to delivering exceptional service—every time, for every customer. That means showing up when we say we will, communicating clearly, and following through on every detail. Our technicians are trained to deliver not just technical accuracy but an outstanding customer experience. This shows up in simple but meaningful ways: thorough inspection reporting, quick turnaround on repairs, 24/7 monitoring support, and proactive communication when we identify potential risks. Our goal is that working with us feels easy, reliable, and refreshingly straightforward.

Another core focus is building long‑term, mutually beneficial relationships. We don’t aim for one‑off jobs—we aim to become your trusted fire and life safety partner for years to come. We take the time to understand each property, each system, and each customer’s unique needs. Many of our longest partnerships began with a single inspection and grew into ongoing programs that include annual testing, scheduled maintenance, capital improvement planning, and multi-property standardization. Whether it’s a commercial facility, industrial plant, or multifamily housing portfolio, we invest in relationships that help our customers stay compliant, safe, and confident.

Finally, we focus on providing real, effective solutions—not check-the-box service. When we uncover deficiencies, we don’t simply document them; we discuss root causes, outline corrective options, and provide repair paths that fit both safety needs and budget constraints. Whether we’re replacing faulty sprinkler heads, upgrading aging fire alarm panels, improving system monitoring, or bringing a building back into compliance after years of deferred maintenance, our solutions are tailored, practical, and built to last. Our mission is to deliver safety systems that genuinely perform when they are needed most.

Case Study: "The midnight compliance call"

The situation

A property manager oversees six commercial buildings across Portland and Southwest Washington. Three buildings are due for their annual fire alarm inspection. One has a kitchen hood suppression system that was serviced six months ago. The AHJ has scheduled a compliance verification visit for Tuesday morning.

It's Sunday evening.

She gets a message from the building owner: "Do we have documentation showing the suppression system was tested and cleared?"

With most providers: She calls the office. Gets voicemail. Sends an email. Spends Monday morning waiting for a callback, trying to track down a PDF from an inspection eight months ago, hoping it's formatted the way the inspector expects.

With SSS Corp: She opens her laptop, logs into her customer portal, and pulls up the full service history for that building in under two minutes. The suppression system test report is right there, date, technician, findings, sign-off. She downloads it, forwards it to the owner, and goes back to her Sunday.

Tuesday morning, the AHJ visits. Everything checks out.

Why this maters for your business.

The customer portal isn't just a convenience feature. It's a compliance safety net, one that works on your schedule, not ours. For property managers handling multiple buildings, it eliminates the single biggest pain point in fire and life safety management: proving you're compliant when the AHJ or your insurance carrier is standing in front of you asking for proof.

Your inspection reports, service records, deficiency notes, and full system history are always there, always organized, always accessible from any desktop browser.

Because your compliance record shouldn't live in someone else's filing cabinet.
