First, let me say, I did NOT get paid to write this review. Next, if you have an opportunity to do business with Signaling Systems Solutions - you will be dealing with Top Shelf Professionals and receive superior customer service. My company had a multitude of "hidden" issues that were revealed after my project began. Technicians has already been dispatched to previously scheduled jobs so Paul came to site and personally spent hours trying to help resolve my very difficult issue. Tim has been coming to our building and taking care of routine service needs for years. That the same person, stays with the company, always has a positive, professional attitude and is above and beyond the call of duty, polite and helpful, speaks volume of the how Signaling Systems is run as a business. Signaling System Solutions recently assisted the Pioneer Community Association, a nonprofit in Cathlamet, Washington, with a fire suppression system upgrade. We are a small organization in a small town, and I'm sure that we were a small project for them. Despite this, they treated us as a priority. The communication with all of their employees was excellent, the project was completed on time and on budget, and they followed up after the project was finished to make sure we were satisfied with the work. I was first introduced to Signaling Systems Solutions ( SSS) several years back when I took over the maintenance of two old commercial buildings in Portland. Shortly after that, one of our fire panels failed. The usual company that we would have do the annual testing and basic repairs for those buildings could not fix the problem. Personally I found it odd, but that company, who may as well remain nameless, recommended another company to do our repairs. When I contacted the recommendation they came and gave me such a huge price and were scheduled so many weeks out that I had to go and get another quote. That's when a friend of mine who maintains buildings in the Northwest turned me on to SSS and I met Paul ( a co-owner ). I explained my situation and he caught on right away that I was really stressed, not happy, frustrated and in a really bad way. Paul came to my building personally and gave me a number of options to choose from. Once I made my choice, he had me up and running by the end of the day. It was a long day but it cost me a lot less money than I expected. Paul stayed until the end and did all the work himself until I was up and running again. Since then, SSS has been my all around - go to - fire protection company. Over the years, I have switched all of my building's fire needs over to SSS. They now do all my annual inspections, my periodic repairs and are available for any necessary consultations regarding fire protection and fire protection systems – and it ends up costing me far less money! They actually do a very thorough job. Much more thorough than any of the so-called big companies where you are just a number . I have two old buildings with offices and a massive warehouse, with over 250 employees to keep safe. Just as importantly there is a tremendous amount of product to protect. It is a relief to know that SSS is always there to answer all my questions and help me understand all the complexities regarding fire safety and all fire safety systems so I can make informed decisions. They are fantastic at all aspects of a comprehensive fire system and their licensed electricians are second to none at trouble shooting any issues. Sometimes, they send Jesse out when I have electrical issues and he is absolutely awesome. The owners, Frank and Paul have been out to see me, too, over the years and both are outstanding electricians. Frank comes out for my big projects when there are other trades involved to help with planning and scheduling. He makes good things happen. Possibly best of all, SSS employees carry all the proper certifications and licenses and every one of them make you feel like you are their only customer. They are not a big company ( perhaps under 10 employees ) but they have enough resources so that no job is too big or small for them. They have done small 250 dollar jobs for me – up to massive underground 14” valve repairs. Yes I said 14” valve! There are not a lot of those around. Dave, their pipe man is incredible. The bottom line is: if you are not using Signaling Systems Solutions for all your fire protection needs you are not using the best. Period.
